This book is a practical guide for parents, teachers, or any individual eager to contribute meaningfully to community life through festivals. The insights offered here are an attempt to share how we might prepare the next generation to awaken spiritual wisdom and foster a genuine human connection through festivals that are simple, attractive, and deeply resonant. It provides a natural, planned experience—firstly at home, then at school, and finally within the community at large.

The Song of Time delves into the profound connections between festivals, nature, ancient wisdom, and human spirituality through Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy—Anthroposophy.

How can a mixed bag of cosmopolitan, city-bred parents and children of the 21st century foster a healthy social and familial life as a collective community?

Discover the answers and explore the vibrant festive spirit of India within these pages.

Description

Latha Madhusudhan is a pioneering educator with over three decades of experience in India and abroad. She holds a postgraduate degree in Psychology, a Montessori Diploma, and a B.Ed. She started her career as a teacher in 1990.

In 2006, her profound connection to holistic, child-centric learning led her to embrace Waldorf education. She swiftly translated this passion into action, founding Prakriti, a Waldorf Kindergarten (2008), and co-founding Bangalore Steiner School (2011) and Advaya Shaale (2015)—a Waldorf grade school. Recognising the systemic need, she has also co-founded Sadhana, the Indian Waldorf Kindergarten Association, unifying and supporting the movement nationwide.

Beyond establishing institutions, Latha actively disseminates Waldorf and Steiner philosophies through teacher and parent education, adeptly adapting them to Indian culture. A passionate advocate for child well-being, she actively counsels parents on media exposure and guides families through personal biography work.

A lifelong learner, she regularly attends conferences and immerses herself in the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner through extensive reading, all while adapting these insights to Indian culture and traditions—celebrating important festivals within her schools.

Her creative pursuits in crafts, painting, and music further underscore her holistic approach.
