Bare Bones Publishing is honoured to welcome Dr. (Prof.) Vikram Singh to its Advisory Board. Dr. Singh is an educationist and retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He joined the IPS in 1974 and held the post of Director General of Police in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) from June 2007 to September 2009. After serving as the Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor of Noida International University, he is currently its Chancellor.
Leading the largest police force in the world, Dr. Singh worked on its modernisation and streamlined day-to-day operations. He worked relentlessly against cyber criminals, organised gangs, mafia, and anti-national elements. He was the founding Inspector General – Special Task Force and assisted in the establishment of this elite force in three other states apart from UP. He has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry twice, Indian Police Medal for Gallantry twice, Indian Police Medal for Long and Meritorious Services, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services, and Kathin Seva Medal twice.
Dr. Singh has guided thirteen scholars to earn their Ph.D. and come out with quality publications. An expert on matters pertaining to internal security and criminal jurisprudence, he is a familiar face on various English and Hindi TV channels. He has also contributed extensively to national dailies like The Times of India, Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, et al. He was also invited to make a presentation before the Parliamentary Committee on the drafting of the three new major criminal laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.

What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?
In school, during the course of debating and contributing to the school and college magazines.

What can we do differently as children or teenagers to become better writers as adults?
Make writing compulsory for every child on any topic that appeals to the child.
If you were given the power to change one thing in this world, what would it be?
To be non-judgemental and accept all.
